Job Description:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Public Affairs Program Manager to join our team in Dubai, focusing on the Financial Services sector. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing strategic public affairs programs that enhance our organization’s reputation and influence within the industry. This position requires a proactive individual with a deep understanding of public policy, stakeholder engagement, and communication strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Strategic Program Development:
- Design and execute comprehensive public affairs programs and initiatives that align with the organization's goals and objectives in the financial services sector.
- Analyze public policy trends and their potential impact on the business, providing strategic recommendations to senior management.
2. Stakeholder Engagement:
- Identify, engage, and maintain relationships with key stakeholders including government officials, regulators, industry associations, and community leaders.
- Represent the organization at public events, industry forums, and government meetings to advocate for policies that benefit the organization and its stakeholders.
3. Communication and Advocacy:
- Develop and implement effective communication strategies to convey the organization’s positions on relevant public policy issues.
- Prepare policy briefs, position papers, and other advocacy materials to support the organization's objectives.
4. Monitoring and Reporting:
- Monitor legislative and regulatory developments affecting the financial services industry and prepare timely reports for management.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of public affairs initiatives and recommend necessary adjustments to improve outcomes.
5. Collaboration:
- Work closely with internal teams, including marketing, legal, and compliance, to ensure alignment on public affairs strategies and messaging.
- Collaborate with external consultants and agencies as needed to support program objectives.
6. Capacity Building:
- Provide training and guidance to staff on public affairs best practices and the importance of stakeholder engagement.
- Foster a culture of proactive public engagement within the organization.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Political Science, Public Relations, Communications, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master’s degree is a plus.
- A minimum of 5 years and a maximum of 8 years of experience in public affairs, government relations, or a related role within the financial services industry.
- Strong understanding of the financial services sector and relevant regulatory frameworks in the UAE and the broader Middle East region.
- Proven track record of developing and executing successful public affairs strategies and initiatives.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor messages for diverse audiences.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to synthesize complex information into clear, actionable insights.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with various stakeholders.
- Fluency in English is required; proficiency in Arabic is a plus.
