Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior IT Support Engineer to join our dynamic team in Al Ain. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in IT support within the transportation and logistics sector, demonstrating exceptional problem-solving abilities, technical expertise, and a commitment to providing high-quality support. This role is crucial in ensuring the efficiency and reliability of our IT systems and infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
- Technical Support: Provide advanced technical support for hardware, software, and network-related issues, ensuring quick resolution of incidents to minimize downtime.
- System Maintenance: Oversee the installation, configuration, and maintenance of IT systems, including servers, workstations, networking equipment, and software applications crucial to transportation and logistics operations.
- Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve complex technical problems using analytical skills and industry best practices, ensuring all issues are logged and tracked.
- User Training: Conduct training sessions for end-users to enhance their understanding of IT systems and tools, ensuring they can utilize technology effectively in their daily operations.
- Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of IT processes, system configurations, and support procedures to facilitate knowledge sharing and compliance.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other IT team members, project managers, and external vendors to implement new technologies and improve existing systems, ensuring alignment with business needs.
- Security Management: Assist in the implementation of IT security measures to protect sensitive transportation and logistics data from unauthorized access and cyber threats.
- Performance Monitoring: Monitor system performance and conduct regular maintenance checks to ensure optimal functionality and reliability of IT infrastructure.
- Project Involvement: Participate in IT projects related to system upgrades, migrations, and other initiatives aimed at enhancing operational efficiency.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 5 to 8 years of experience in IT support or a similar role, preferably within the transportation and logistics industry.
- Strong knowledge of operating systems (Windows, Linux, etc.), networking concepts, and hardware troubleshooting.
- Experience with IT service management tools and ticketing systems.
- Familiarity with cloud services, databases, and virtualization technologies is an advantage.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to provide clear and concise technical support to users of varying skill levels.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert) are a plus.
