Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Nurse to join our healthcare team in Abu Dhabi, specifically within the agricultural sector. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in nursing, with an emphasis on public health, occupational health, and the unique health needs of agricultural workers. The Senior Nurse will play a critical role in promoting health and safety standards, providing direct patient care, and leading health education initiatives aimed at enhancing the well-being of individuals working in agriculture.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Patient Care:
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to agricultural workers, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care.
- Monitor and manage chronic illnesses and acute conditions prevalent in the agricultural community.
- Administer medications, treatments, and therapies as prescribed.
2. Health Promotion and Education:
- Develop and implement health education programs tailored to the needs of agricultural workers, focusing on occupational health, safety practices, and disease prevention.
- Conduct workshops and training sessions to educate workers on health risks associated with agricultural practices and promote healthy lifestyles.
3. Collaboration:
- Work closely with other healthcare professionals, including physicians, nutritionists, and occupational safety specialists, to coordinate comprehensive care for patients.
- Liaise with agricultural organizations and employers to foster a culture of health and safety within the workplace.
4. Clinical Leadership:
- Supervise and mentor junior nursing staff, providing guidance and support in clinical practices and patient management.
- Lead quality improvement initiatives to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of nursing practices within the agricultural sector.
5. Health Assessments:
- Conduct health screenings and assessments to identify health issues among agricultural workers.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and documentation in accordance with regulatory standards.
6. Emergency Response:
- Act as a first responder for workplace injuries and emergencies, providing immediate care and stabilization until further medical assistance is available.
- Develop emergency response protocols specific to agricultural workplaces.
7. Research and Reporting:
- Participate in research projects aimed at improving health outcomes for agricultural workers.
- Prepare and present reports on health trends and concerns within the agricultural community to stakeholders.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution; Master’s degree in Nursing or Public Health is a plus.
- Active nursing license in the UAE.
- Minimum of 5 years of nursing experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role.
- Experience in occupational health or community health nursing is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of the health risks associated with agricultural work and preventive health measures.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Proficient in using electronic health records (EHR) and other healthcare technologies.
