Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Procurement Officer to join our dynamic healthcare team in Dubai. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of procurement processes in the healthcare sector and will be responsible for ensuring the efficient acquisition of goods and services. The Senior Procurement Officer will play a key role in establishing and maintaining relationships with suppliers, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and optimizing procurement strategies to enhance operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Procurement Strategy Development:
- Develop and implement procurement strategies that align with organizational goals and ensure the timely delivery of high-quality medical supplies, equipment, and services.
- Analyze market trends and supplier performance to identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
2. Supplier Management:
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and vendors to negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms of service.
- Conduct supplier evaluations, audits, and performance reviews to ensure compliance with quality standards and regulatory requirements.
3. Contract Management:
- Prepare, review, and negotiate contracts and purchase orders, ensuring compliance with legal and organizational policies.
- Monitor contract performance and manage renewals, amendments, and disputes as necessary.
4. Inventory Management:
- Collaborate with inventory management teams to forecast demand, manage stock levels, and reduce excess inventory.
- Ensure the timely procurement of critical medical supplies and equipment to avoid disruptions in patient care.
5. Budget Management:
- Assist in the development and management of the procurement budget, ensuring alignment with organizational financial goals.
- Monitor expenditures and implement cost-control measures to maximize resources.
6. Compliance and Risk Management:
- Ensure compliance with local and international procurement regulations and healthcare standards.
- Identify potential risks in the supply chain and develop strategies to mitigate them.
7. Team Leadership:
- Mentor and guide junior procurement staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including finance, operations, and clinical departments, to ensure procurement needs are met effectively.
8. Reporting:
- Prepare regular reports on procurement activities, supplier performance, and market trends for senior management.
- Utilize data analytics to inform decision-making and improve procurement processes.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. A Master’s degree or professional certification (e.g., CIPS, CPSM) is preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement, with at least 3 years in the healthcare sector.
- Strong negotiation skills and the ability to build effective relationships with suppliers and stakeholders.
- In-depth knowledge of procurement regulations and best practices within the healthcare industry.
- Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English; proficiency in Arabic is a plus.
