Job description
We're delighted to be recruiting a temporary Bookkeeper on behalf of a well-established SME based in Market Harborough. This standalone Bookkeeper vacancy offers the opportunity to take ownership of the finance function during a period of absence, working closely with the Managing Director and external accountants. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day financial operations of a growing organisation.
£17.00 - £20.00 per hour, dependent on experience32 hours per week: Monday to Thursday 8:30am - 4:00pm, Friday 8:30am - 1:00pmOn-site parkingTemporary contract for a minimum of 3 monthsDuties and responsibilities:
Managing accounts up to trial balanceProcessing and reconciling sales and purchase ledger transactions, including invoicing and receipt postingsPreparing supplier payments, completing payment runs and resolving supplier queriesCompleting daily bank reconciliations and monitoring cash flow forecastsCollating payroll information for the external accountant and processing payroll journalsPreparing and submitting VAT returns, while assisting with Corporation Tax information requirementsLiaising with external accountants, HMRC and other relevant authoritiesRequired skills and experience:
AAT qualified, studying towards AAT, or qualified by experience (QBE)Minimum of five years' experience in a similar Bookkeeper or bookkeeping roleStrong understanding of double-entry bookkeeping principlesPrevious experience using Xero and a good working knowledge of Excel, including Pivot Tables and VLOOKUPsAbility to manage confidential information with discretion and professionalismExcellent organisational skills with the ability to work independently and manage priorities effectivelyStrong communication and interpersonal skills, with a collaborative approach to workPay: £17.00-£20.00 per hour
