Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized **Accounting Assistant** to join our team at Smith Allergy & Asthma Specialist. This role plays a key part in maintaining the financial operations of our practice and ensuring the smooth functioning of daily accounting tasks. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in basic accounting principles, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced medical office environment.
Key Responsibilities:

- Assist in maintaining accurate financial records, including accounts payable and receivable.

- Process invoices, payments, and expense reimbursements in a timely manner.

- Reconcile bank statements and credit card transactions.

- Monitor and track office budgets, providing regular updates to management.

- Generate financial reports, including profit/loss statements and monthly account summaries.

- Assist with tax preparation, audits, and year-end financial reporting.

- Maintain confidentiality and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations in all financial matters.

- Perform general administrative duties as needed, such as filing, data entry, and record maintenance.
Qualifications:

- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree or coursework in accounting or finance preferred.

- 1-3 years of experience in accounting, bookkeeping, or a related field (medical office experience is a plus).

- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks) and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.

- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

- Familiarity with medical billing processes and insurance claims is a plus but not required.
