Job Summary
We are looking for a support engineer to manage and monitor datacenter operations, Wintel systems and network connectivity in a 24x7 environment. The role includes hardware support, system monitoring, and coordination with internal teams and clients.
Responsibilities
• Monitor and Triage servers, storage, and network devices in the datacenter.
• Provide support for Windows Server, Active Directory, Hyper-v and VMware.
• Install and configure network switches and access points independently or under guidance of connectivity team members.
• Use monitoring tools like ManageEngine, SolarWinds, and SCOM.
• Perform patching, backups, and routine health checks.
• Handle incidents, alerts, and change requests.
• Maintain documentation and update system records.
• Coordinate with internal teams and clients for issue resolution.
• Support hardware including HP and IBM servers.
• Manage backup and storage devices (e.g., NetApp, Dell EMC, HPE).
• Participate in disaster recovery and business continuity tasks.
• Collaborate with other domain admins or engineers until they arrive on-site for complex tasks.
• Provide technical and physical support for all the data centers, server rooms, plant and office building
• Co-ordinate with remote engineers for physical tracing of cables and patch panels.
Collaboration
• Work closely with network, security, and application teams.
• Communicate with clients and stakeholders for updates and support.
• Share knowledge and updates during shift handovers.
• Ensure troubleshooting is anchored until it is handed over to the relevant team upon their arrival at the site, based on the incident.
Skills & Experience
• 5–10 years in datacenter, Wintel and Network support.
• Strong knowledge of Windows Server, AD, DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, VLAN, WAN, WLAN structure cabling and passive infrastructure
• Experience with VMware or Hyper-V.
• Experience with Networking devices like Routers, Switches Aruba access points and controllers
• Familiarity with monitoring tools (ManageEngine, SolarWinds, SCOM).
• Basic networking knowledge on Routing and switching and wireless
• Experience with HP and IBM hardware.
• Knowledge of backup/storage systems (NetApp, Dell EMC, HPE).
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Willing to work in 24x7 rotational shifts.
Qualifications
• Degree in IT or related field.
• Microsoft certifications preferred (MCSA, MCSE).
• ITIL Foundation is a plus.
