About the Role
Uber Payments UK LTD (UPUK) is an E-Money firm and authorised platform payment processor to manage all of Uber's payments in the United Kingdom.
The Finance Manager will provide key support to the Finance Function by performing essential monitoring and reconciliation work.
What You'll Do
• Drive the month-end close reporting process
• Perform daily reconciliation procedures for safeguarding relevant funds held in custodian bank accounts and carry out other reconciliations such as bank, partner payables, collections and disbursements
• Monitor the liquidity and solvency position of the entity, ensuring regulatory requirements are being adhered to at all times
• Assist the finance lead in preparing and managing regulatory, management and financial reporting
• Take ownership of the Finance Payments Databook" ensuring that the data is accurate and reconciling the outputs to various data sources
• Monitor the delivery of tasks within the Finance Service Level Schedules with Uber, ensuring that tasks are being delivered at the right quality and on time
• Maintain and monitor key finance controls, ensuring that they are evidenced and being performed in line with company and regulatory policies
• Support with the annual budgeting process
• Lead the onboarding process of new suppliers such as vendor set-up, raising purchase requests, purchase orders and approving invoices
• Ensure the accuracy, completeness and timeliness of all payment operations, treasury activities and associated reconciliation controls
• Review and provide advice to the management board on all UK product launches for compliance with financial regulatory requirements
• Review and ensure accounting set-ups are accurate and in line with regulatory requirements for new and existing products in the UK
• Assist with internal and external audit requests
• Ad hoc requests to support the finance lead with day to day operations
What You'll Have
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
• Qualified ACA/CPA/CA/ACCA or equivalent qualification preferred
• Relevant month-end close experience
• Big 4 experience, financial services, payments, safeguarding and SQL is a strong plus
• A strong understanding of fundamental accounting concepts, principles and tax
• Proactive, able to effectively prioritize and focus on what matters whilst committed to getting the job done
• The ability to handle large volumes of data, create pivot tables to assess the quality of the data and draw conclusions
• A good eye for detail, with the ability to drill down when necessary whilst maintaining a helicopter view
• Strong risk appetite, ability to understand processes and controls
• A collaborative team player, who works well independently and enjoys working cross-functionally and at all levels of the organization
• Good interpersonal skills to communicate key information and status to stakeholders
• Comfortable in managing ambiguous situations
• Flexible and adaptable working style and attitude
• Proficient excel skills are a prerequisite
