Machine Operator – Digital Printing

Location: Dt Neots
Department: Production
Employment Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Salary: £28,000 – £34,000 (depending on experience and flexibility)

We are a well-established and growing manufacturing business operating within a modern production environment. Due to continued demand and investment in digital print technology, we are looking to recruit a skilled and reliable Machine Operator to join our production team.

Role Responsibilities
As a Machine Operator (Digital Printing), you will be responsible for the day-to-day operation, setup, and basic maintenance of flatbed automatic and semi-automatic digital printing machines. You’ll ensure print jobs are completed efficiently, accurately, and to a high standard.

We’re looking for someone with an “over-and-above” mindset—happy to support other operational areas such as die-cutting, assembling/handwork, and occasional goods-in or despatch support when required. In short: a team player who understands that great production happens when everyone pulls together.

This role sits at the heart of our operation and is ideal for someone who enjoys working with machinery, takes pride in quality output, and is happy to roll their sleeves up to support the wider team when needed. Confidentiality is important to us at this stage but rest assured—you’ll be joining a business with solid values, long-term stability, and a genuine appreciation for its people.

Key Responsibilities
• Operate automatic and semi-automatic digital printing machines with precision and care
• Set up, calibrate, and adjust machines according to job specifications
• Monitor print runs to ensure quality, consistency, and efficiency
• Load and unload materials, ensuring correct stock handling and minimal waste
• Carry out routine cleaning, basic maintenance, and troubleshooting
• Identify and report equipment faults or quality issues promptly
• Complete production records and documentation accurately
• Work collaboratively with colleagues to meet daily targets and deadlines
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organised work environment
• Contribute ideas to improve processes, efficiency, and quality
• Provide flexible support across other operational areas when required

Skills & Experience Required
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality control
• Good mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
• Ability to follow work instructions, technical drawings, and safety procedures
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
• Basic computer skills and confidence using digital interfaces

Desirable (But Not Essential):
• Previous experience operating digital print machines (automatic/semi-automatic preferred)
• Experience with inkjet, laser, or UV digital print systems
• Knowledge of colour management and finishing processes

Personal Attributes
• Reliable, punctual, and dependable (we love people who show up)
• Self-motivated with a positive, can-do attitude
• Comfortable working independently and as part of a close-knit team
• Willing to learn, improve, and take accountability
• Flexible and supportive with an “all-hands-on-deck” approach

Working Hours
• Monday to Friday: 6:45am – 4:45pm
• Overtime available during peak production periods

Why Apply?
• A lovely, friendly working environment with a team that genuinely looks out for one another
• A workplace with decent values, mutual respect, and no nonsense
• Free snacks, fruit, sweets, pop, hot drinks, and bottled water for all employees (yes, really)
• Free on-site parking — no early-morning parking stress
• A role where your effort is noticed and appreciated
• Humour is not just encouraged; it’s practically a survival skill here
• Stability, consistency, and a place you’ll enjoy coming to work

If you’re a skilled machine operator who values teamwork, quality, and a workplace with personality (and snacks), we’d love to hear from you.
