Ready for a new challenge?

Are you looking for work that makes a difference? Do you want to work with people who learn and grow together?

If so, this role could be a great fit. You’ll join a growing UK tech consultancy that delivers user-centred solutions for clients across government and industry.

The Role

As a Software Developer, you’ll focus on building high-quality, user-centred products. You’ll combine your technical expertise with collaborative, agile ways of working. The environment is tech-agnostic, and you’ll have the opportunity to work with a range of programming languages, frameworks and tools.

The team follows agile programming practices, including test-driven development (TDD) and pair/mob programming. The work is varied, hands-on, and involves regular engagement with clients and stakeholders. You’ll help them adopt better ways of working, deliver reliable technology, and achieve successful outcomes from discovery through to live.

This is a consultancy role, so communication, collaboration and the ability to guide and influence others are key. Experience delivering digital services for the UK government is highly valuable, and familiarity with the GDS Toolkit is essential.

Technical Skills
• Strong expertise in Java (preferred)
• Experience with languages such as Scala, Kotlin, or Ruby is also valuable
• Solid understanding of Object-Oriented Programming
• Strong knowledge of testing principles and practices
• Experience delivering services that meet Government Digital Service (GDS) standards
• Comfortable picking up new technologies and working in a T-shaped role
• Experience with agile methodologies

Responsibilities
• Supporting and delivering work from the team backlog
• Collaborating with testing activities
• Leading the implementation of user stories
• Participating in mobbing and pairing sessions
• Working collaboratively in multi-disciplinary teams
• Contributing to internal communities of practice

Salary

£45,000 – £59,000 (depending on experience)

What’s on Offer
• Competitive pension, healthcare, share options and discretionary bonus
• Flexible hours and 25 days’ holiday
• Supportive environment with a focus on learning and development

Where You’ll Work

This role is hybrid, with time split between home, company office locations, client sites and other collaboration spaces, depending on project requirements. Some travel within the UK should be expected.

Inclusion

All candidates are welcome. The organisation values diverse identities, backgrounds, and perspectives, and aims to ensure that this diversity is reflected in the solutions delivered.
