Overview
We are seeking an efficient Warehouse Operative to join our team on a temporary basis. This position requires a physical ability to unload container shipments.
This temporary position is expected to be for 3-6 months, to provide additional support throughout peak season. Working hours for this role are 42.5hrs per week, Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm. This role has the potential to become permanent with the right candidate.
Duties
Your daily duties will include:
• To work with a small team of operatives, performing picking and packing of orders accurately for shipping
• To ensure all orders and workload duties are completed to given timescales using the handheld scanners
• Manage inventory using a Warehouse Management System (WMS) to track stock levels and movements.
• Handle materials with care, ensuring stocking and organisation within the warehouse.
• Load and unload goods from incoming shipments, ensuring all items are handled properly to prevent damage.
• Assist with shipping and receiving tasks, verifying that all shipments are complete and accurate.
Skills
Essential
• Previous warehouse experience, with good-inwards responsibilities
• Strong skills in stocking, picking & packing, as well as shipping & receiving processes
• Familiarity with using handheld scanners
• Able to perform heavy lifting safely and previous experience in manual handling
Desirable
• Proficiency in operating forklifts is desirable; certification would be required.
