We are seeking a skilled and experienced Cartographer to join our team in Sharjah. As a Cartographer in the Aerospace and Defense industry, you will be responsible for creating detailed maps and charts for use in various military and defense applications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Utilize geographic information systems (GIS) software to collect and analyze spatial data
- Create accurate and detailed maps of various terrains, including land, sea, and air spaces
- Collaborate with military and defense personnel to gather data and understand specific mapping needs
- Use satellite imagery, aerial photography, and other sources to update and maintain mapping databases
- Ensure all maps and charts meet industry standards and are suitable for defense operations
- Stay up-to-date on new technologies and methodologies in cartography to continuously improve map-making processes
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Geography, Cartography, or related field
- Minimum of 3-8 years of experience in cartography, preferably in the Aerospace and Defense industry
- Proficiency in GIS software, such as ArcGIS or QGIS
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in map-making
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and meet tight deadlines
