Job Description:
We are seeking a talented and experienced Cartographer to join our telecommunications team based in Sharjah. As a Cartographer, you will be responsible for creating and updating maps and geographical data to support our network planning and optimization efforts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collecting, analyzing, and interpreting geographic data to create accurate and up-to-date maps for our telecommunications network.
- Collaborating with engineers and network planners to determine the most effective locations for network infrastructure based on geographical data.
- Using GIS software to develop visual representations of network coverage, capacity, and performance.
- Conducting field surveys to verify the accuracy of maps and data.
- Keeping abreast of the latest technologies and trends in cartography and GIS to continuously improve our mapping capabilities.
- Providing support to other teams within the organization by creating customized maps and data sets as needed.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Geography, Cartography, GIS, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in cartography or GIS mapping, preferably in the telecommunications industry.
- Proficiency in GIS software such as ArcGIS, QGIS, or MapInfo.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Knowledge of telecommunications networks and infrastructure is a plus.
